What do they all have in common?

They make us accessible to everyone.

They broadcast what we say and what we do.

And a lot of poker players are saying and doing something they should not without fully considering their privacy.

They are sharing their poker strategies on these social networking sites.

In so doing, they are giving ammunition to current and future competitors.

They are completely giving away their secrets and tricks without a second’s thought.

Consider what you are saying on your social networking sites.

Consider who is reading what you say.

Spread the word.

Poker is all about winning and if you are constantly losing, you need to think about the reason why.  Most of the time, it is due to the fact that you are playing too many hands and honestly – you want to stop that.  Only play a hand when you know that it is going to help you win.

Also, you want to make sure that if you are playing, you are 100% in the game, otherwise you want to make sure that you quit – it isn’t worth it!

One of the first things that you need to make sure that you are doing is not to ignore the pot odds and card odds.  These odds actually help you with betting, raising, calling or even folding.  If you want to master poker, these essential tools are definitely one way to do it.

Make sure that you study the odds and that you brush up on your statistics math and you will see a difference in your poker game.

At one time or another, pretty much every poker has had some kind of tell. Some players chew their nails when they are waiting to build their hand or when they are worried; some cover their mouths to hide smiles or frowns, depending on how good their hand is; others may simply scratch their ears, tug their hair, even drum their fingers on the table.

Look for patterns. Look for leitmotifs, repeating themes.

If you can tell what an opponent does when he or she has a good or bad hand, you may be able to open up the game for yourself.

Most likely, when you are just beginning, you are going to start at low-lever bidding, so that way you do not have to bid a whole lot of money.  Low-level bidding is a great way to ensure that you do not bid too much and that you start out slow.

Poker is hard ladies and gentlemen and it is not something that you want to rush into – keep that in mind whenever you are getting into it.

The first reason that people raise is because they want some more money.  The pot grows and when you win it, you get more money.  That is a good and logical reason, however that is not always how it works out because you honestly – do not always win remember?  So you need to think about that whenever you are raising.

Playing out a few bad hands when you are playing poker can seriously pay off and to be quite frank … I think that too many poker players do not take that into consideration, they just think that they should quit right after they do not get the cards that they want … that is not the way to win … at all.

Poker is not an easy game, actually, it is one of the hardest games in the world and you truly need to make sure that you are ready for it when you want to get serious about it!

One thing that you need to wait for in poker is good hands … this is where you will be spending most of your time waiting.  Good hands in the game of poker do not come around all that often and if you are impatient about them, then they will most likely take a lot longer to come around – so that is why patience is so important.

One of the first things that you need to do is know when the right time to use your bluff is.  That is why you are really going to have to pay attention to the other players that you are playing against.  That way you can judge and figure out exactly when the perfect time for you to use that secret weapon of yours is.  You never want to bluff right off of the bat – then they know you are bluffing.
